We named the kitty that was attacked by a raccoon or coyote, Starleena. She has puncture wounds on her sides and a nasty wounded eye. We think she was delivering her kittens when she was interrupted by the animal that attacked her. There are three newborn kittens that are with her. She was heard crying at 4:30 am and she had one of the kittens with her on the front porch. The kind person that found her looked for more kittens and that’s when she found the two others. One of the kittens has a condition called “twisted leg”. Both of his back paws look like they are on backwards. When he crawls to his mommy he drags his legs. We put two tiny little splints on them. We will check every few days to see if it is helping him. We’re extremely thankful this kitty and her babies were saved.

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend. If you know me, you know I love this weather. It seems like summer flew by. Just when I thought we were slowing down on kitten intakes we have been bombarded with the little guys this week, eight in the last two days.

Big Al has was in a real loving mood the last couple of days. Georgia was playing with a spring toy, bouncing it and tossing it in the air. The spring toy is a favorite of many of our kitties. We opened the door on Maggie’s suite. She is starting to come out. She is one of the sweetest kitties at the rescue. If you haven’t met her stop in and give her some love and she’ll give it right back.

Fluff, Stuff and Shooting Star went home and I’m very excited to say Bella and Lavender- two Colorado Springs girls have forever homes!  Only 4 to go! Our 2nd Fabulous Boutique Sale was Saturday. If you missed out, watch for the next date posted here in the blog.

If you donated to help Wyatt I can’t thank you enough! His critical care is round the clock and very expensive. I am still hopeful we can pull him out of this. We are one week into this journey and he doing his best to overcome his starvation. We are having problems adjusting his electrolytes causing him to still struggle to stand. I have to remind myself it took him weeks to get into this shape and it will take weeks for him to recover. Keep sending him get well thoughts J

Please like this if you like the blog and if there is anything you would like to know about the rescue feel free to ask!

Kindness to Critters Always,

Kathleen
